The Congolese born UK based artist, started singing in the streets of Kinshasa, DR Congo from a very young age. At the humble age of seven he already had his own version of nursery rhymes. Jahilez’’s Yves inspiration was notoriously found in Congolese music as well as reggae, soul, zouk and gospel.

Now hailing from South London and tipped for big success in the near future, he attended the British Academy of New Music alongside DJ Ironik and Hectifyer co-founder of Nubian knightz music, so it’s no surprise Jahile musicality boasts of sounds such as Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Maxwell, Stevie Wonder and Omar.

The road to success is never easy and that is what makes Jahile’s journey even more special. “I can relate to everyday guys on the street because that’s where am coming from. Being in trouble with the law and struggling to make ends meet, I turned to music to help me. I live by the premise that if my music can make a difference to one’s in life, then I’ve done my job, I sing in order to inspire and uplift”, says Jahilez Yves.

Jahilez Yves has just finish recording his first solo E.P. “indifference”, packed with five original tracks and club remixes with several up and coming producers whom have collaborated with the likes of Drake and Dr Dre to name a few. He has also starred in a film documentary for channel four to be screened in September 2011, the documentary deals the aftermath of the London bombing of 7/7.
